The road traveled by Henry Joseph is a journey of the heart. A magical fusion of Americana and the land down under. His beautiful and haunting melodies lead you into a world of emotion. Henry Joseph’s music moves through genres to create its own mysterious style. Evocative and sensuous. If you truly listen to a Henry Joseph song, you will find love, you will find beauty, and at the same time you will find a place in the song that is left just for you.
Henry Joseph left Los Angeles for Australia hoping that the Land of Oz would be fertile soil to realize his musical vision. Six months later Henry had a band composed of some of the finest “musos” in Australia. Henry’s singular style combined with musicians from Melbourne’s jazz, rock and pop scenes resulted in a sound and feel that was new and special and everyone involved knew it. The albums Brand New Start, The Victorys, and Rock Up are the culmination of this international musical odyssey. AustralAmericana music is born.
The Victorys
For Henry, finding a bass player to collaborate with in Melbourne would begin the journey of putting together the band that would become “The Victorys.” Bass player and Producer, Jonathan Zion, “When I first heard Henry Joseph’s music, I knew he was the real deal.” Jonathan and Henry would bring together a distinguished group of musicians; Danny Farrugia, drums, Luke Howard, keyboards and guitarist Claude Carranza.
In the course of 3 years Henry Joseph & The Victorys would record 3 albums, have songs on the radio, perform on television and in concerts for an ever growing audience.
Below is a picture of Henry and Jonathan during the time they recorded the debut album “Brand New Start.” Jonathan was on a list of musos (Australian for musician) provided by Deborah Conway, a celebrated Australian singer/songwriter. Deborah was most helpful in this way. She had been referred to us by a mutual friend, iconic Australian comedian, Austen Tayshus. Austen Tayshus and Henry had been friends since meeting in Los Angeles many years earlier.
In the photos below, you can see the concert poster marking the release of the 2nd album “THE VICTORYS”, that was posted around Melbourne.
